Job Description:
This Brand Operations Manager – Prestige Fragrances position reports to the Vice President of Marketing & Brand Management. This role is involved in the development, and execution of marketing programs and strategies to support assigned fragrance brands in Canada. This position services all channels of distribution to drive brand growth and achieve objectives.
Management Responsibilities:
· Implement marketing plans and fragrance launches, aligning with timelines and targets
· Report POS results to management, brand and retailer partners on an ongoing basis
· Analyze feedback and performance of promotional programs to enhance sales potential.
· Address market opportunities and challenges proactively to maintain competitive positioning.
· Understand fragrance consumer purchasing behavior
· Work closely with sales teams to equip merchandising groups and field teams with the tools needed for in-store execution of planogram updates.
· Review and optimize planogram performance to maximize sales for fragrance lines across multiple retailers
· Influence brand strategies by identifying new product, pricing, and packaging trends, alongside competitive risks tailored to the Canadian fragrance market.
· Communicate key insights from retail, field, and consumer to Management and Brand partners
· Manage multiple project priorities to ensure fragrance launches stay on track
· Utilize industry data to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks within the fragrance category.
· Conduct regular competitive studies and market visits, sharing insights with management, brand partners, and sales teams.
· Document pricing strategies and manage price lists for fragrance retailers.
· Oversee the internal fragrance item creation process.
· Prepare business reviews for management meetings
· Produce accurate reports, status updates, detailed competitive activity grids, etc.
· Ensure compliance with all contractual obligations for the assigned fragrance brand(s)
Marketing Responsibilities:
· Collaborate and communicate key marketing initiatives for fragrance brands
· Identify niche and guerilla marketing opportunities for the assigned fragrance brand(s).
· Leverage product knowledge tools such as training manuals, webinars, videos, and e-commerce content
· Plan and execute national training sessions for assigned fragrance brands
· Identify opportunities for new fragrance launches and seasonal promotions
· Provide monthly in-store activity calendars for field teams, communicating marketing guidelines and event plans
· Recommend innovative marketing initiatives to increase brand growth and market share in the fragrance category.
· Prepare presentations for clients, retailers, management, and internal departments.
· Manage obsolescence of discontinued fragrance items
· Support digital marketing efforts, including social media and online advertising
· Respond to customer inquiries and provide key insights in collaboration with brand partners
· Maintain a record of all price lists, placements, product specifications etc.
Finance & Forecasting Responsibilities:
· Demonstrate fiscal responsibility by managing expenses, sales budgets, and inventory for fragrance brands.
· Ensure flawless execution of sales-driven marketing plans for each fragrance brand
· Execute against MSRP pricing structures tailored to the fragrance market
· Forecast and monitor promotional and saleable fragrance inventory to meet sales targets
· Regularly review and adjust forecasts to maintain optimal inventory levels for Saleable, Testers, Novelties, POSM etc
· Track discontinuations and in-store programs to limit returns
· Lead interaction with purchasing to ensure proper flow of products
Communications Responsibilities:
· Develop strong working relationships with local & global fragrance counterparts, suppliers, and vendors.
· Collaborate with internal & external departments to execute fragrance launch plans
· Establish regular communication stream and follow-up with all team/project members
· Maintain communication with field teams on fragrance brand status, sales rankings, and promotional opportunities.
· Lead and attend briefings with cross-functional teams on fragrance product reviews, timelines, and launch strategies
Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in marketing preferred
· 1 to 2 years of experience in Fragrances, CPG or related fields
· Proficient in MS Office, Smartsheet, and Adobe Suites
· Strong business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit
· Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
· Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
