Cosmetics Alliance held our first ever Virtual Regulatory Workshop on June 1st and 2nd with 125 people in attendance. Hosted by CA’s VP and Regulatory Director Beta Montemayor, attendees were guided through essential updates from Health Canada’s Directorates CHPSD, NNHPD and HPCD (ROEB). Some of the key topics covered were the Self-Care Framework, NHP Inspection Pilot, Cosmetics Hotlist, and Health Canada’s Forward Regulatory Plan.
A highlight from the event was our first ever “Directors General Panel” featuring Natalie Page (NNHPD), Linsey Hollett (HPCD), Roger Charland (CHPSD), and joined by CA President Darren Praznik. The panel was moderated by Beta Montemayor. The three DGs reflected on the past year and how they will leverage what they learned during the pandemic into the Self-Care Framework.
The DGs acknowledged that a change in the regulatory forum is essential for our members to conduct business effectively. Our members provided Health Canada with valuable feedback during the question period and had the opportunity to network with their industry colleagues and Health Canada virtually.
