The article entitled “No Soap for Seven Years” was recently published in the Toronto Star.
Cosmetics Alliance Canada (formerly the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry & Fragrance Association) was contacted by CBC’s The Current to weigh in on the discussion about soap use. The live on-air panel included Jackie Hong, author of the Toronto Star article, Dr. Sandy Skotnicki, reputable Dermatologist, and Darren Praznik, Cosmetics Alliance Canada President.
The discussion was balanced and without controversy. In fact, all three panelists conveyed essentially the same underlying message of “to each their own” recognizing that hand-washing with soap is essential while excessive body-washing with soap is not.
