CA would like to congratulate and welcome the new Chair of the Board of Directors, Gulnara Gabidullina, who makes history in being the first female Chair of our Board of Directors in its 93 year history! Gulnara has been a member of the Board of Directors since 2015 and of the Executive Committee (Vice-Chair) since 2016. In her role as Director of Global Product Stewardship at Procter and Gamble Inc., she has been actively engaged in our Association for over a decade. In addition to her roles on the Board, Gulnara has also been an active member of several of our technical committees including serving as a Chair. She has been a highly valued and strong industry voice in our government relations and regulatory affairs efforts.
Gulnara has been with P&G for 24 years and in Canada for the last 13. Gulnara previously worked for P&G in Central Asia and in the London Innovation Centre, UK. While in the EU, Gulnara managed complex regulatory projects on development and implementation of new European regulations and mastered deep subject matter expertise in the areas of personal care and cosmetic regulations and product safety. In her current role in Canada, Gulnara leads the regulatory team; external and internal activities associated with regulatory compliance; and technical external advocacy and stakeholder relationship management in Canada.
Gulnara also works closely with industry groups and other organizations in Canada. She is an immediate past Chair of the Canadian Consumer Specialty Product Association, a past member of the Stewardship Ontario Board of Directors, a current member of the Circular Materials Ontario Board, and represents P&G at CEPA ICG, US PCPC and FHCP. Gulnara holds an MSc in Chemistry from the Kazakh State University, and MPA (Master’s in Public Administration) from the University of Birmingham, UK. She completed cosmetic toxicology courses at the University of Brussels, Belgium.
Gulnara will be replacing our previous Chair, John Coyne, who, as we advised in a recent update to CA members, recently made the decision to leave Unilever after almost 30 years years of service with the company in order to focus on his work on sustainability and the circular economy. Consequent to his departure from our industry, John offered his resignation as Board Chair and member of the Board of Directors.
Please join us in congratulating Gulnara as our new Chair and wishing her the best as she steps into this important role in our association and industry!
